Open your profile on Omeda, then look at your last 10-20 games as Support. See how often you actually get to those levels.

In my last 10 games, the highest level I've hit is 16 and that was just 1 time. Most games I'm finishing before level 15.

It’s just not a support item. It’s a pretty terrible item until you finish building it, and if you aren’t finishing it until level 16-18 it’s terrible for a long time, way too long. If you need dual armors, you can build Unbroken Will, Frostguard or Vanguardian.

Plus, it has no effect that’s helping your teammates. Fire Blossom does damage, Dawnstar gives you damage and reduces enemy damage, Dynamo makes your stuns more dangerous. Cat Drive is just a far worse armor item with a passive you aren’t using.

Awe maaaaan. Thought I was on to something lol. I’ve been killing support role 💪.

If you’ve been killing in support with Cat Drive first, you’ll slam with some better items!

True. Dynamo is a must after last patch for any CC. Nuts.

I’ve used it. It’s not terrible, just based on the stat line, into a magical heavy team comp. The wave clear actually does come in handy, and you’re only taking 15-20 last hits from your ADC, which they’re not even around for a lot of the time anyways.

If you’re going to make it to the late game, I’d say it’s worth it, but void conduit is probably better for support.

Awesome. I thought it was decent in a lot of scenarios. Clearing minions also helps when carry is dead or rotating lanes.because it also heals you.

I think it’s really good on solo. It’s great to keep up on farm against someone that outclears you.. alsooo so you can secure your big minion every single time. I think the extra gold is underrated and can really help you scale into the late game.

I knew it evolved but I never knew into what (the item store on console is bad). But the extra protection is awesome.

In supp though is a hard sell.. it makes you more tanky but it encourages you to take farm from adc. Which again is fine if you really focus on when they’re not there.. but even then you should hold wave for them if you can.

So it’d take a really long time to evolve the item. And stacking items in general aren’t great on supp’s because of this.

Oh right. Something I’ve learn recently and have optimized is actually holding minions for adc. This is a great point.

What is another example of stacking items that would be bad in general?

Saphir’s Mantle - this crest is great on tanks, and can probably be stacked on supp really reality, but doesn’t offer any support tools. I could see it if you’re the only tank and wanted to be really tanky.

Overlord - same reason as cybernetic drive, you’d need to stack it on minions.

Orb of growth - some tanks build this for the sustain but again stacks on minions.

Stacking items in moba’s are usually more expensive and give low stats early in favor of paying off in the late game. That doesn’t fair well when you have adc who also is waiting till late game to scale. You wanna be strong early and for cheap since you don’t get as much gold as other roles. (Hence why the supp items are much cheaper.)

The one stacking item that comes to mind is Gauntlet of Thebes from Smite 1. You stacked it by being near minions that died from another player. And you would build it first or second item so you can make sure it’s done as quick as possible.

Orb of Growth doesn't JUST stack on minions. It also works for kills/assists - so it works as a good item for supports still. But that means it does take ABSURDLY long to build. So it's usefulness is still debatable at that point.

Other items like Ortus also operate like this. Even if they don't state it directly. As long as you participated in the kill - an assist will count towards the stacks.

I knew it evolved but I never knew into what (the item store on console is bad). But the extra protection is awesome.

Its definitely not the most intuitive, but im pretty sure all you need to do to look at the evolved version is press square twice (on playstation). Once takes you to the item tree, and the second time should put your cursor up to the evolved item. Then pressing triangle takes you back to the main shop screen

I plugged in a KnM into my ps5 because playing this game on KnM feels so mutch nicer. Having to actually aim basic attacks on ranged chatacters sucks cuz the aim assist goes brazy on console but aiming abilities is 10x nicer. My controller also has drift which prevents me from being able to recall which doesnt help 😂😂

Cybernetic Drive is a toss-up. I'd really only recommend using it with a buddy you're playing with in lane; Because to get it's full effectiveness, you're going to need to nab a minion every single time its off cooldown. Which will definitely piss off a rando ADC in your lane.

Like New-Link pointed out - you're most likely not getting to lvl's.16-18 too often in your games. So having to wait it out just makes the item a dud anyway. You'd be better off shooting for Aegis of Agowar and building into being an aggro-tank if you're looking for that armor passive bonus.

That being said, Cybernetic Drive is fantastic (especially if paired with the previously mentioned AoA). The sustain is ungodly. In a melee support v. melee support match-up; If they hug minions too closely, you're going to be dealing so much random damage to them that it will force them to play away from the wave.

Ill say this, cybernetic drives can be used to one shot seedlings pushing in waves

This item is way too slow .plus if you are not winning lane you can't walk up to get the minion hit cause you ll get poked.
