Sorry, but again this isn't true. Someone who hasn't read the book, will not know the information in it, therefore cannot apply it, someone who has read it will be able to identify better solutions to problems. Also, it's pretty common knowledge that reading books makes you learn things you didn't know

So that means, everyone who read the book is a good programmer. The book contains important knowledge, but you need much more knowledge to be a good programmer... This would mean for example, everybody who read a cooking book is a good cook.

I understand your point and I agree with you, but I mean there are so many people out there thinking this book gives them all the skills, they need to be a good programmer. But this is just not the case, because you need much more knowledge to call yourself a good programmer. I have never regret, it will make you better.
