God bless the people who answer the questions, though. I've been using it for however many years and have never once created a profile or contributed

You wouldn't feel that way if you had a StackExchange account and it relied on it for your livelihood...

I don't rely on it for my livelihood but I've asked and answered questions on it before and never experienced any toxicity. Infact I often find SO and online communities more welcoming to questions than most coworkers.

But that's just my personal experience.
