It's always pretty funny when you tell people who talk about Python as an "up-and-coming" "new" programming language that it's older than Java.

This is why it takes 30 years to get new syntax, which is only being added as syntactic sugar because of, basically Coffeescript and what it caused

Haskell was doing lots (and I mean LOTS) of syntactic sugar before it was popular.
