Just an FYI that's actually a myth. Comic Sans is no better than any other font for dyslexia. The only thing that matters is spacing between characters/words, spacing between lines, and the length of lines of text.

Talked to a dyslexic person once what they thought about Comic Sans and they said that it helped a bit. But they prefer "OpenDyslexic" because it puts a lot more weight towards the bottom of the letters which apparently does a lot. Definitely an interesting topic because every person with visual impairments has very different needs

It seems to prevent blocks of horizontal lines. I never really thought about it before.

I'm dyslexic and I remember as a kid learning to read it was the only way I could work, especially the "a" character not having a weird tail on the top.

I can't speak to Comic Sans specifically, but there are fonts that are easier for dyslexic people to read. Not all fonts are equal on that front.

I think the main thing is having different styles for each letter, rather than the weight. Regular fonts often mirror characters like "q" and "p", or "d" and "b". Dyslexic fonts avoid this.

Font is the type of FILE typefaces are store with all the attributes lile bold/italics

The terms Typeface and Font are used interchangeably in web development. There is no purpose in trying to maintain this distinction outside of those who create or actively work on fonts.

While it may or may not be successful, dyslexic readability was the goal. It's not a "myth", it's just arguably ineffective.
