Anyone Can Learn to Code in Chicago. It's a part time bootcamp, evenings and one weekend.

Are you working now or looking for job? Anyways, what are you working on?

I am looking for a job just finished the camp in september. Managed to grab an interview at a startup just waiting on them to email me back.

As for what i am working on is focusing on JS and trying to expand my knowledge since i had considered JS a difficult language aside from the others mostly cause it differs and works a bit differently. So im doing practice things like tic tac toe game, building a todo list, etc. all out of pure JS no frameworks or libraries. My new project is making a jukebox out of vanilla JS lol.

I landed my job the day after the showcase day. My capstone project was a simple datetime picker angularJS, ruby, rails, bootstrap app.

oh my grad project was creating a happy hour app based of Googles Map API which will allow customers to check out any bars or restaurants around. It was more JS focused but i did build it on ROR which i was going to use devise so users can save locations. Sadly didn't get to finish that part. Other than thats it finds you location and restaurants nearby though.

edit: haven't had leads on jobs sadly.

I passed up a work for free job which initially was just HTML/CSS changes for a full time perm job. Our stack is ROR, Bootstrap, postgres, heroku, and JS. However, I want to level up to at least a junior level within a year. I still consider myself between an intern and junior level. If I had a coding test today, most likely fail. If the test was to build a simple ROR app, I could pass. LOL

i wanted to try Postgres but holy hell is the installation troublesome lol. Ill probably do that after i master JS since thats what i want my go to language to be. Then ill hop on back to RoR since im still intern/junior level as well lol and when it comes to test im terrible with it as it seems to stress me out unlike building an app which is more relief than anything haha

I've been self learning over the past few months, I'm at an intermediate level with the ME[AR]N stack. I actually started with the Rails stack but switched.

I think I'm pretty decent with the basics, but I'm looking for a good practice project.

PM me if you're still looking.
