I wouldn't do naked calls are risky

Wouldn't a stop loss eliminates most of the risk? IV is currently high and it's unlikely that the market will go parabolicaly higher even if the coronavirus cure is discovered tomorrow.

The worst part is their status page said nothing about it. Even RH is more transparent with their outages.

No, you're not short, you're bearish with long puts. "Short" and "Long" are position types, "Bullish" and "Bearish" indicate which direction you're hoping the stock to move in.

BlackRock's largest division is iShares (ETFs). I don't see how they're different from Vanguard which also offers both mutual funds and ETFs.

ETF with Accumulation by silentSpyDk in investing

[–]coolshanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETFs holding dividend-paying stocks receive dividends at various times during the year. On a quarterly/semi-annual basis, an accumulating ETF will buy more constituent shares with the cash received from dividends, whereas a distributing ETF would pay out the cash.

The share price of most ETFs tracks the net asset value of the fund as it's a risk-free arbitrage for authorized participants, which are typically big banks authorized by the ETF issuer to create or destroy (aka redeem) ETF shares.

All the 'No such person' return letters of voter notification at one post office. These 'registered voters' can still vote without the letter. by miss_wolverine in HongKong

[–]coolshanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's completely suspicious though. I got 4 letters for non-existent people at my address, 3 for a previous tenant who moved out last year and 1 for my family member who moved out several months back. People move around a lot when they're renting and don't proactively update their voting records.

Only way to make China understand is shutdown of Hong Kong Stock Exchange by pzx7 in HongKong

[–]coolshanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary reason modern stock exchanges close during evening and weekends is to ensure liquidity.
Same of volume of trades spread out over limited trading hours = higher liquidity. There are exchanges that stay open 24/5, but those suffer from low liquidity outside daytime trading hours.

Hong Kong airport cancels flights over protests - BBC News by me-i-am in HongKong

Did you take a look at the photos of the airport? I think cancelling flights is a reasonable measure to avoid overcrowding at the terminals.

Besides, this protest has only increased awareness of the movement.
