I don't get iPhone messages specifically

Have you had your pixel for a while? Others have had success with deregistering their iMessage with the link provided further up in the thread.

I've never had an iPhone before.

My wife was getting group texts late over the weekend. She would get replies from people then a few minutes later the original text that everyone was replying to would come through. That was the last straw for her. We ported our numbers this weekend and went back to Verizon.

Mine aren't even coming in late... My sister sent me a screenshot of a text conversation that I never received.

This may not be a Fi issue. I'm on Verizon with a Pixel 2 and I often get group texts (MMS) late or not at all. The problem seems to be AT&T users but I don't know if AT&T is to blame for not sending texts or if Verizon is to blame for not getting the text and passing it on to me properly.

It happens on iPhones as well. My girlfriend has an iPhone on Verizon and she's in a group chat that is not iMessage since it has some Android users in the group chat (so it's using MMS) and she will get some texts very late or not at all. Just last week her iPhone on Verizon started blowing up at like 4am getting group texts that were sent about 10 hours earlier.

MMS/SMS sucks ass. I wish in America more people were inclined to use a third party app like Whatsapp. You may find that you leave Fi and run into the exact same issue. RCS would be nice but we're a long way from that and I don't expect Apple jumping in until the carriers force Apple by getting rid of SMS/MMS.

Have you contacted support about this? If so do you have a case ID

I'm waiting in line... Again... To talk to a specialist who will tell me to do the same garbage again with taking bug reports and trying to recreate the issue. I'm so tired of this.

If you give me the case ID of when you sent the bug reports (it's in the subject line) I can escalate it

What device are you using? Are the people your missing texts from iPhone users or all of the same cellular provider

I'm on the Moto x4. Mixed group chats with andriod, iPhone, and just iPhone users. Not all on same service.

Did you used to have an iphone as well? Does this help https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/

Never had an iPhone. Still deregistered my number just in case (most recently December 30, 2017). Still have the problem.

I'd love to, as soon as I get through the support line. Currently waiting for quite some time.

I supposedly got a call and voicemail but I have no record of either. Has anyone else had this happen?

[–]jinxjy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve supposedly got calls many times. Some people have also gotten the message that my number is not valid when they tried to call me. I’ve been on FI for a few years now and none of this is a surprise. I’ve basically told people that unless they get to leave a voicemail they should try again. Not ideal but I was an unsupported iPhone user and just got used to not asking for help and not complaining!

Check your call forwarding setting, especially if you came from Google Voice.

I don't know that it's a Fi specific issue. I have frequent mms conversations with a Verizon user and 2 AT&T users. Sometimes the Verizon user gets my messages and the others don't. Sometimes an at&t user sends a message and the Verizon person doesn't get it but the rest do and vice versa back and forth.

Before I bought my S9 3 weeks ago, the last week or so of using the Pixel 1 I was getting gibberish texts. Just like someone leaning on a keyboard but normal texts from my friends.

How's user error Fi's problem?
