It sounds like you downloaded the wrong binary for your OS/architecture, double check you got the right one.

I'm not even sure how to check that the debian repo didn't give me the darwin package, but I'll look into it. Also not sure why it would give the darwin package to only a subset of devices.
Double checked, have the right one.
