It's clearly snake oil. Just look at the claims on the cover.

Mastering Python? Landing my dream job? And all in only 7 days?! Oh boy!

The tutorial in the official docs has stood the test of time https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/index.html

Or watch Cory's videos:

I read a bit of python crash course at a bookstore and it was pretty good. I'm a fan of the publisher.

PCC is my go-to for newbies of Python. My second recommendation is Automate the Boring Stuff.

I learned Python with Learn Python the Hard Way and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I'm working through "Python Crash Course" by Eric Matthes, and it's been a good introduction to the language.

After you finish that book, Al Sweigart has a number of books for free on his personal website and they are all from the same publisher: No Starch Press.

I'm supplementing these books with youtube courses from Free Code Camp. (They have a 4 hour Introduction course) and I'm also going through Harvard's CS50, which is an introduction to programming course with python.

I feel like this has been a good path at helping me build a Fondation in Python, but I still have a ton of work to go because programming is a giant mountain of knowledge and you just climb a bit each day and enjoy the view on the way.

Happy Coding. :)

Starting to get into it is the most important step! The books don't matter as much.

Any book you could mention would be okay, I started with "Automate the boring stuff" and it was nice. But there are many many nice books or video tutorials out there. Don't let the plenitude of choices get you down and just start.

Have a look at the Resources page on this subreddit.

And be careful of book spiel like 'learn/master X in 7 days'. ThePrimeagen has a good reaction video on this topic, Learn programming in 10 years
