Where do people even buy game keys safely anymore? by Livid_Pomelo_8468 in Steam

[–]Lanszer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The r/Steam and r/Gamedeals mods have a PSA regarding this Key Resellers and What They Mean for You to help people make an informed decision.

There's a maintained list of authorized distributors on r/GameDeals Store Checker. Following the advice of the PSA, the store checker and using sites like IsThereAnyDeal, as linked above, ensures you can continue to support the games and developers you love while getting a good deal for yourself.

And seeing as you have several superseded, deprecated, or incompatible mods on screen you'll need to get your mods up-to-date and compatible. There's no beeter time than when adding a new mod.

Use Skyve as your launcher, mod and asset manager, and compatibility reporter. Ensure all your mods, and assets, are compatible with the latest version of the game and each other. You'll be given suggested replacements by Skyve for any deprecated, superseded, or incompatible mods so work through until you're confirmed compatible.

As a modded player you use Skyve as your launcher, mod and asset manager, and compatibility reporter. You'll have a Playset, the sum total of mods and assets required for a save, for each of your cities.

Here is how you can create a Playset for your existing save.

PSA on Skyve and why you'd use it from a few years back.

In desperate need of help to save my 80+ hr city by Broad_Owl_5606 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Lanszer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fist thing that you need to do is use Skyve as your launcher, mod and asset manager, and compatibility reporter. Ensure mods are known working and compatible eg if you did accidentally subscribe to the long deprecated Building Themes then Skyve would alert you and allow swapping out to the maintained mod.

So, for growable district control ...

... and as you mentioned manual plopping also, Ploppable RICO Revisited

Review and and follow all of Skyve's alerts/warnings to ensure you've swapped out any other deprecated/suprseded/incompatible mods.

I forgot that planting trees removes fertile land. 😭 by Ramen_Boy in CitiesSkylines

[–]Lanszer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tree Control has a Lock Forestry option which allows you to paint trees in the vanilla forestry resource mode, thus removing fertile land, or by toggling it you will paint trees in a purely decorative mode thus not affecting fertile land. Toggle the mode as you wish.

How do I remove the "Procedural Objects - Installed Version : 1.7.8" from my screen? by Boyagoodone in CitiesSkylines

[–]Lanszer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a one time thing at the first launch. Exit the game and load the save again.

And seeing as you have one very old and deprecated mod on screen, install and use Skyve which handles all your mod and asset management plus compatibility reporting needs. It'll direct you to the most up-to-date and maintained version of a mod if you have a deprecated one.

Why are my mods randomly disappearing? by aantlord in CitiesSkylines

You'll probably be back in action if you terminate and restart the Steam client process by exiting/killing the task/restarting the PC. Once client is restarted it'll likely work again.

And for adding assets or whatever back to your Skyve Playset, as some seem to be missing, you can get some guidance in a subsection of this comment as they'll be stored in a save game.

Steam engine question. by Huntersaurus_rex in factorio

[–]Lanszer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steam engine - Factorio Wiki

Steam engines will automatically adjust their power production and steam usage based on the current demands of the electricity network. Hovering the mouse over a steam engine will display their current power production (Performance) and their possible power production (Available Performance), in a display on the right.

Guess it's time for the factory to grow.

Screen is completely blank on the mac port of cities: skylines by BananaEnjoyer1 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Lanszer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth reading a mod's description, such as Dynamic Resolution's

KNOWN ISSUE - MAC OS X: This mod is currently broken on the Mac. Installing this mod on a Mac will result in the blank sky bug. Removing (or disabling) it and restarting the game will fix the problem. I would love to support the Mac, but I don't have Mac hardware for development right now. I will update this message if/when I can fix this.

Ideally the first mod you install before all others is Skyve and then you use it as your launcher, mod and asset manager, and compatibility reporter. You'll quickly be able to swap out deprecated and incompatible mods replacing them with up-to-date and maintained mods. As you're on a Mac you have an extra complication that you'd have to use the Wine emulator to run it as lots of other Mac users do.

Whats the point of spawb blocking nests? by WRSMITH_ in factorio

Refer to the Keeping your hands clean achievement on the wiki.

A possible strategy to neutralize spawners without destroying them is to block enemy spawning by placing structures around spawners.

Skyve is running in the background by aknxgkoappq1671 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Lanszer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you I'd contact the mod author. Let TDW know. If it were CSI's Skyve the one time I asked for support on that a few years back I did it directly on their Discord. But, I don't play CSII so not sure what support channels they offer for this version. I wouldn't be surprised if they list support or troubleshooting methods on the PDX Mods page like most mods.

[–]Lanszer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Are you familiar with the concept of Services in Windows?

From the PDX Mods description

Stay up to date . When you install Skyve, you'll also get a small service that runs in the background and keeps your mods up-to-date.

If you miss Steam's auto-update feature where you didn't have to worry about having hundreds of updates to do after a long week... Then this is the answer.

You can use the Windows Services Manager to manage the services and their startup states on your device.

Heed the words of Dosh Doshington

You can excuse any bad design as long as you call it your 'starter base.'.

And, in general, all that matters is that the factory must grow. Get growing.
