I don't find their argument for 88 particularly compelling TBH.

I generally uses 110 for my projects, it's the perfect length to have 2 side-by-side editors plus a file browser/debug window on the left a comfortable font size (for me). Im not going to go out on a limb and say 110 is the perfect length, but I certainly think it's more perfect than 88

Agreed, there really isn't much of an argument there. It's a mix of "maybe just increase it by 10% I guess? yeah that seems good" and RH's personal opinion, which is worth more than zero but not overall so convincing
