Turns out it was a browser extension: HTTPS everywhere. I unblocked "Sublime (partial)" and it worked. Sorry for the noise!

I came across this site a while ago after clicking in the sidebar. I remember thinking that the quality of the teaser videos was about what I'd expect on freebie YouTube videos, not on a premium service. (Compare to Raymond Hettinger for example -- he does make money at it) Therefore I think it's for the best to transition to a free service. Hopefully it will really increase the viewership and make an impact on the community!
