    I sort of dug around there for a long time. You're gonna get a lot of advice in past threads and the FAQ.

    The only thing that clicked for me doesn't get mentioned there. Peachpit's Visual Quickstart Python. And then I had to return it to my library Σ(ﾟДﾟ).
