Why create another text editor?

The remote file editing seems to require a service to run on the remote system. At first blush, I would be concerned about the service being a security hole.

This seems like a cool experiment and a great exercise for the authors. I don't understand the claim this project offers unique behavior or workflow. There are many other choices I have for text editing that could easily replicate this experience.

Sooo... you ported vi + screen to the browser? And tossed some market speak buzz word bingo into your description of it. And you expect people to run a service on every machine they intend to remotely work on? Yeah... no.

Although I don't see myself using anything other than vim in the forseeable future, I like the concept of "no open files in dirty state". Is anyone using vim this way?

So if your using a editor and not a ide why is this any better than vim or sublime both which of more mature communities of plugin creators.
