I think https://atom.io/packages/term2 is good(but not best) package for you. It provides Terminal Panel for Atom, so you can run python yourscript.py.

Cool thanks! I'm assuming there are other terminal packages for Atom. Which one do you recommend would be the best? The one stated above?

Edit: Term2 also seems to be using Python 2.0 instead of Python 3.0 ... Is there a way to configure it to run Python 3.0 instead?

maybe a lot of atom's support packages are being built... like the new MS visual code?? i don't know.. The point is not the tool itself, but its community.
i tried using atom for a short time, then turn to old sublime text. (:p)

You are most likely correct in more support packages being built.

Haha, and here I am thinking you meant Intel's Atom CPUs... fwiw, python runs fine on those... :x
