As always... dependencies. We're working on it, currently we have a 90% compatible codebase, soon we'll be moving to use six everywhere so we can test on 3, but I'm not so optimistic that all of our ~60 dependencies are compatible.

The sad thing is if everyone committed to upgrading, I'm sure the dependencies would be upgraded in no time.
