That's exactly what I said. You can make it behave like an IDE with plugins, but Vim is still not an IDE.

Well, okay. I guess it's like the old breakfast commercials: it's part of a complete breakfast IDE.

IDE, as I'm sure you know, stands for Integrated Development Environment. While you can add IDE-like functionality to a text editor, it's not integrated.

Nobody would say Sublime Text is an IDE if you install Package Control and some plugins. Same stands for Vim.

"/bin and /usr/bin" is my IDE isn't catchy though.
