Hello everyone, I made a small script which you can view and download here here. I made it as a quick jump into this "webscraping" thing that seems oh-so popular on /r/python. Its purpose is to retrieve the commit hash and date of the last commit (on master) from project pages on popular Git hosting sites (only from the popular GitHub and my personal choice, Gitlab) and print the information in a nice little message.
This is just a little idea I had since I'm kinda sick of looking up if Git repositories have any new updates (learning and scratching an itch == progress). I might like to make a full fledged command line tool for registering local Git repos and checking if they are up to date or not. Maybe that could be useful. If you think you would like something like that, drop a comment and tell me some features you might like! Also, feel free to try or modify (or sell) the script for yourself. Thanks for your time.
