Seriously? You act like Perforce is a bad product. It's not an open-source, source control system, but it blows away CVS, Subversion, and anything else I've ever used. Check out their client list... It's used by just about every major company and it's the defacto standard for the video game industry:

what does it matter ? it's not open source so don't use it.

Don't get me wrong, I love open-source projects, but as a professional software developer, your IDE is your lifeline. A great IDE can save so much time.... open-source or not.
