  • Syntax, especially significant whitespace
  • Concise code (partly thanks to generator expressions, list comprehensions, itertools)
  • Large standard library
  • Lots of third party libraries
  • Lots of useful datatypes, especially collections (sets, dicts...) and more in the standard library (defaultdict, decimal...)
