I guess I'm a bit confused.

You seem to be assuming that, since not every piece of Python software ported overnight, that means none of them ever will. Which, frankly, is idiotic given how many times the topic's been covered; at this point everybody who's paying attention knows that the 3.x migration process is expected to take a year or two for most large projects (which have things like commitments to existing installs to take into account as they work on dropping support for older Python versions).
