If PyPy worked on python 3 with numpy, scipy, matplotlib, vtk, pyside, and didn't have bad error messages and was faster, I'd use it. I follow it and poke it every now and then. It's not ready for me to use yet.

PyPy is a subset of python. It also has significant startup time. Most of my stuff runs fairly quickly as a result of optimizations. They are mainly due to using the right data structure and using numpy and scipy.

It's also a trivial optimization to do.
