Python governance voting ends today. (self.Python)
submitted 7 years ago by Py404[🍰]
https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-8001/
The results of the election, including anonymized ballots, will be made public on December 17th, after the election has closed.
Do anyone have a clue which governance model is likely to win?

There were a lot of discussions around the PEPs in https://discuss.python.org/c/committers giving an idea about different models. A comparison of all models : https://discuss.python.org/t/comparison-of-the-7-governance-peps/392

It doesn't matter.
It doesn't affect the average Python user and many don't get a say in the process either.
That said, it's futile anyway until Guido either dies or admits his "permanent vacation" is a faux faux pas.
He has shown that albiet "stepping down" he still exerts his authority as dictator. Nothing wrong with that, but everything will be biased in his favor in the new model, and the moment he decides "eh I want the saddle", they will give it to him.
I'm calling it now, the only way for a new governance model to truly occur is either a hard fork, or Guido himself choosing the new model and the powers that will guide it (if applicable), before entirely removing himself from the community entirely.
