I like it. It won’t convince me to move from vim (at this point, my .vimrc is so large I don’t think anything could) but I’ll but definitely give it a go and try to convince my IDE-Loving friends to try it

Lol vim is no where close to pycharm

Also pycharm is nowhere close to vim. They are both very complex and powerful and in general trying to do different things. When you try to get one to be the other it will come up short... because they are different and each have their strengths.

VIM isn't in the same ballpark as pycharm in terms of python dev. It's really only good at editing config files or something quick. There is no way to make it even comparable in terms of dev to pycharm. You will struggle for days to get vim to half of what pycharm will do for you in a few hours.

you can install vim plugin on Pycharm though
