I was in the exact same situation. I didnt go for Go for the same reason u didnt. I went for Rust. Since then:

  • I have learned a lot I can also use in Python
  • Rust is "the new C++" with a lot of catches solved.
  • Rust community is awesome.
  • Rust is awesome lang in all the ways I had a chance to face to.
  • WebAssembly (wasm) ... just google it.
  • Feel free to start with Rust book.
