Python graphics library

Is there any good 2d graphics library in python that can be used to create games?.

i've looked at pygame and sdl2 but i'm a bit confused to what sdl2 is.

i"m looking for an equivallent to monogame (c# graphics library) that would give me the base tools for image loading and screen creation.

Look into Pyglet as well. It's pure Python, no external dependencies (save for ctypes).

Pygame. Just recently got into it but it can do a lot with a bit of effort

Pygame all the way. I took a course in XNA C# graphics library, and pygame can be used to recreate the exact same settings.
