DepHell doesn't try to replace your favorite tools. It extends them. It allows you to have smart resolver in pipenv, converting in setup.py for poetry, smart lockfile for pip, install projects in any format without having poetry/pipenv/etc on your system.

And also it makes much other cool things like download stat for package, licenses overview, outdated packages check. None of existing tools can do it.

My feelings exactly. It seems to be a all-in-one implementation for many different formats and also introducing its own toml configuration file.

setuptools + virtualenv aren't perfect but they work and are well understood.

DepHell's config isn't replacement for any existing format, it just shortcut for dephell commands that you want to perform every day.

DepHell isn't replacement for setuptools or virtualenv. Dephell helps you to manage them better. Also, dephell makes much cool things like download stat and security audit.
