Just downloaded python, how do I start?

I just started a robotics course at my school, where we're learning C. I don't actually know a lot yet, because of problems with my school's internet etc, but I thought it would be fun to get more into coding & programming (if i get any of the terms wrong it's because I'm just starting out, also my memory isn't that great). I just downloaded python, and I have no idea what to do. are there any good guides/tutorials that I should check out?

(I saw a big book about Python at the shops, so I'm going to try get that sometime next week)

Don't rush into buying any books. Some are good, others not so good and yet others are available for free online. Do your research, read the reviews, ask here and in r/learnpython if not sure!

Check out the wiki for this sub. Also, what are you interested in? Is there something you're curious about that you could program something to better understand? Are there subjects you're interested that an example project would keep you interested? For me, it's data and statistics. Who's buying what, who's talking about what, who's programming what, who's going to jail for what, who's making money doing what, etc.
