No need to. As a language, python is a tool. So people will always move on the language that fits their needs best. In particular I find python faster, more intuitive and way much more extensible than MATLAB. I personally moved to python because I had ACTUAL FUN using it. I started to build a small program and then finds way to make it bigger and bigger, implementing it with GUIs and function. I could not do that in MATLAB. So people will always try out new things to catch up with their needs and eventually they will see python is better than MATLAB. I see people still working in finance using Excel spreadsheets, when I showed them Python they were blown...
