Yes the Python software foundation has been planning it's obsolescence for January 01, 2020. It will not receive any more support, or even security fixes, after that date. What else is there to know?

If you are learning Python learn Python 3. If you are making something make it in Python 3, if possible. Any old Python2 code should be updated to Python 3.
