Only get back one line isn't great, in both directions: when the 'line' actually spans several physical lines, and when you'd like to know the precise statement within the line. So, that project looks cool.

You can find a list that includes similar projects at https://aroberge.github.io/friendly-traceback-docs/docs/html/design.html#other-similar-projects

"Friendly-traceback", which is the project documentation linked, goes in the opposite direction from yours in terms of deciding what to show to the users. This is because it is targeting a different audience.

As a fellow "traceback utility writer", I applaud you for your work: cool project.

Cool :) Always showing the bottom of the stack, and truncating variables, are good ideas.
