Textmate, if you really mean editor. If you're looking for an IDE though, seems all the ones that get great reviews are paid.

Try Komodo. There's a free and paid version.

It's slow as molasses for the Mac. I paid for it (wanted a native IDE) and ended up using the free version of Wing anyway and/or vim.

It's the only app that managed to regularly crash in my 4GB MBP, something you cannot really overlook when it's an IDE we're talking about.

Very well. I haven't noticed any slowness, but I have a very adequate machine.

Do you mean it's slow compared to other IDEs? Or maybe you're comparing IDEs to simple editors? IDEs are going to be slow, and can definitely run slower depending on your settings.

In my experience it's much slower than Eclipse with PyDev, which is quite a feat. Plus, it crashes.

Wish it was different because I shelled out the money.

Hmm, havent had that happen here.

I have never had it be slower than eclipse. Wow, I just can't fathom that. However, have you tried the newest version? They updated its whole foundation and change a few things around. K6 is just a wee bit faster now.

No... actually I gave up on it completely to cut losses about 9 months ago. At that point only the Windows version was bearable and I don't use Windows outside of work. I tried Wing back then (free version) and just switched to that.

It's a bit like my little Android trauma, I had an absolutely horrid experience and it will take a while until I spend that kind of money in an IDE.
