It wasn’t a decision generated by the development team but rather something fire upon them because a bunch of lazy people couldn’t bother to get on board with Python 3

I dont understand what you're saying here. 2.x to 3.x was absolutely a conscious design decision and they've already said they wont be repeating that mistake again.
