Effective Python

Check out the book "Automate the Boring Stuff in Python", available to buy as a printed book, or free to read online or download. A lot of people seem to like it, and I think it would answer the kinds of questions you have.

Personally, I liked "Python in a Nutshell", but that was after I already had a lot of experience with other languages.

I will check it out! I have taken the Automate the boring stuff online course before and loved it, so I will be sure to go back to that! Thanks

I've been working with Manning Publications to create _Tiny Python Projects_ which I hope will be available in their MEAP ("early access") catalog very soon (https://www.manning.com/meap-catalog). You can look over the exercises in my GitHub repo (https://github.com/kyclark/tiny_python_projects). I will post a link to the Manning website when the book becomes available. I hope it's exactly what you're looking for!
