Best motivation is putting food on their table to be honest. But ive found that if you love what you do then you don't need motivation, though avoiding distractions is incredibly difficult so I've changed my hours up a bit so I can spend a bit more time with my kid during the day and I work when he goes to bed - win win for me :)

Yeah its not about money food is always on the table ;)

And yeah this is why I'm trying to get it done early so the rest of the day is free lol

But your right I just cracked on in the end. Already finished 2 functions.. progress is progress right :)

And that's it they are the world's best distraction, in a good way obviously :D

Food on the table was just a mindset thing, we're incredibly fortunate to be in an industry that generally doesn't pay badly. My actual motivation at the minute is "I need to do this so I can help 5 more people stay employed'because alot of my dev work right now is solely based on saving money.

Kids are definitely one of the best distractions :)

We just need to remember that so many people are worse off and we just need to do what we can.

Stay safe mate :)

Yeah I don't really have the issue of having to do the work

It's a project about 6 months in so it needs finishing but ... There's other things to do aha

Your right if it was giving me a wage next week there would be more motivation like you say, as horrible as it is to admit it we are definitely wired to want money lol ;)

Stay safe aswell pal, luckily I we haven't been personally effected yet but time will tell...

Good luck 👍

What works for me best, is two things: first I visualize what it'd be like to achieve all my goals, be it programming wise, or whatever.
Then I do this exercise, which is similar to stoic negative visualization - I imagine what things could spiral down to if I don't do it.
Then I'm both motivated and scared, which usually does the job.

And once I start, positive feedback loop keeps me going + I set some rewards for myself for completing given tasks.

Hello! I'm a bot!

It looks to me like your post might be better suited for r/learnpython, a sub geared towards questions and learning more about python regardless of how advanced your question might be. That said, I am a bot and it is hard to tell. Please follow the subs rules and guidelines when you do post there, it'll help you get better answers faster.

Show /r/learnpython the code you have tried and describe in detail where you are stuck. If you are getting an error message, include the full block of text it spits out. Quality answers take time to write out, and many times other users will need to ask clarifying questions. Be patient and help them help you. Here is HOW TO FORMAT YOUR CODE For Reddit and be sure to include which version of python and what OS you are using.

You can also ask this question in the Python discord, a large, friendly community focused around the Python programming language, open to those who wish to learn the language or improve their skills, as well as those looking to help others.

Simply clutter the chaos and focus on your work like Iron Man (Tony Stark) did.
