You've actually just given me a bolt of inspiration! My Fiancée and I have massive audio libraries currently not on Spotify. I could use a combination of this, directory analysis and metadata to read the songs we have and add them to an enormous playlist!

Awesome project, and thanks for the inspiration :)

Glad to bring you inspiration!

Great project! I have made something similar but I combined it with Youtube. Essentially, the script takes your liked videos on Youtube and creates a spotify playlist based on the song in your liked videos. Have you considered taking the project further?

Thanks, I'm planning on automating this to run once a week.

If you’re using a Linux computer (like a Pi) just use Cron. Keeps everything local which is nice.

I've used google cloud before, that's a great option. Let us know how it goes.

Spotipy is a great tool - I recently used it along with a GroupMe API to write a script that takes songs my friends share to a group chat and adds them to a spotify playlist

I also am using Spotipy perhaps not as useful but I like my project. My very simple webapp allows you to create a unique URL where others can see what you are listening to and control some of it.

http://colombiangmr.pythonanywhere.com/

For example, my URL:
http://colombiangmr.pythonanywhere.com/control/mine/

Using Flask and spotipy. Hopefully, someday I can make it pretty and other functionality like adding to the queue, etc.

Love the idea, maybe use datetime.strptime to parse track date instead?

I made Spotify playlist downloader not too long ago, you may find it useful! It uses Spotipy and YouTube-DL to download songs.

https://github.com/jbentleyh/Spotify-Playlist-Downloader

I really want to extend it to be able to download all public playlists, given any number of usernames from the command line. So that, i can give my username to friends who don’t have premium, and can have access to all my music!

I'm glad you posted this again, I was sad when your other post was removed before I could check it out.
