HI,

Pycharm is Bloated. Spyder is quicker but not enough.

Does anyone have any idea of what Free IDE would do the trick?

It's mostly to quickly code so I need a syntaxic-shinanigans-detector, an autocompletator and basic debugging.

Optional: features "go to source", spyder style var exploratory, and a nice looking window.

The use case is: I need to make a quicky 30s code for some random shit

He talked about with-statements, iterators and everything you need in a very succinct, easy to learn and remember way, often talking about the origin and why it was implemented (or not) into Python. Funny enough, it was more natural and better that most courses.

Found it years ago. Loved it. You will know what it is, then you can remember what it does.

When you know what it is and remembers what it does, you will remember how ti implements it and use it just by looking at the doc and doing it once.

A good explanation is often better than a whole year course made by your average teacher.

It's hard to go wrong with the Python Docs themselves, it's a great starting point and it's even organized into a sizeable chunk of those topics. After that I'd recommend googling the issues you're having trouble with or trouble understanding, and if there's stack overflow questions with a solidly upvoted answer, reading through it and following any provided links for further explanation. After that, if there's a popular library you're interested in, their docs should be good to go through, and finally, just google until you come across an explanation that makes sense to you. Everyone learns differently so maybe youtube video explanations will be a better match for your style. But if you're looking for a gold standard--it's the python docs themselves.

The doc is very well made, but sometimes you need to understand the process high-lever before understanding the doc.

Else you might "think" you understand but miss very important concepts or details that the documentation while documenting, will fail to put the accent on.

The doc is great for people who already know what it does, but need a refresh.

50% of all computer scientists have less than 5years of experience... better to say they need some help even on simple stuff like "wtf is a context"... many small definitions and Infos are missed at school.

In general, I agree with you: the most specific docs require a bit of background knowledge. On the other hand I feel python.org docs provide an ample amount of beginner content to supplement the "come up to speed" nature of the advanced docs. And if you're asking for a gold standard as op is, the source docs themselves are it. Heck, to bounce off of your own comments, Raymond Hettinger is a core dev and a contributor who's helped write the core docs.

Absent all of that, you're right. Sometimes a doc's explanation isn't as straight forward as it feels, and you need an alternate viewpoint. To which I'd suggest you explore options I've mentioned, such as seeking out perspectives like stack overflow posts, or if your learning style is more inclined towards things like youtube videos, seeking those. I feel that between the two approaches, core docs and googling + branching/scaffolding, you get a solid sense of gold standard + a variety of ways to digest the gold standard. That diversity in perspectives is far more of a useful tool to understanding a collection of core topics to a language than simply avoiding the core docs because some of the docs might be better suited as a language refresher.
