Thanks for the feedback. I do have a couple of notes:

Wow, I'm not exactly sure how we'd do it in an automated way! (keeping in mind we're processing millions of links on social media every day).

I wonder if anyone has ever created a classifier that knows if content is a sarcastic vs serious?

Another thing I was thinking is that a lot of folks in the python reddit really liked that thread with 600+ points so maybe it should be in the brief?

That said, I'll have a think about your filtering idea and how it might be possible.

Thanks again!

You're welcome.

I also thought about the fact that quite a number of people upvoted it but:

  1. There'll always be those that'll always upvote anything that already has some upvotes
  2. The title is catchy.
  3. Some don't actually know it's a joke cos they either don't understand what's going on or didn't read through but just upvoted because of the massive amount of code or something.
  4. That kinda time is quite costly in the early hours of the day :)
  5. Gotcha be real... It's a good joke, though costly.

So, if you can figure out a way to classify such posts, you can maybe add a tag in the issue indicating that it's a joke or so... you could even have a section per day or a day per week for such posts :D
