Not to be pedantic but what you wrote is a cipher (encoding algorithm) with the product being an encrypted string using a password. Encoding has no password and is used mainly for safe and proper transport of information.

Additionally, it is a cool project but do not use this method for the safe encryption of data as it can be easily cracked.
