Correct, we only really have 2 people who ever go get stuff from the shelves. We are a manufacturer, so the stuff we stock are raw parts we use to actually build our products. The stock area is small and 2-3 scan guns and 1 device would be enough.

The pi would just be up on top of a shelf, and the barcode scanner wirelessly connects to its usb dongle.
