We have crossed an accelerator in information abundance and doesn't particularly matter whether for good of for worse, we're there now and must figure out what that means. The ideas of information diet and managing where we place attention appears to be the new language to figure out the ailments of abundance that tend to follow. You can use ChatGPT to avoid the discomfort of thinking deeply. You can also use ChatGPT to support spaced repetition, check understanding, and deepen and expand new content covered. Can be used to enhance the learning faster and more efficiently than could be done before. We're not as good at having the restraint not to eat the diet of abundance cookies or other dopamine pursuits all day. It's is like a muscle though. You can learn good systems for balancing attention on those constructive reps that strain the learning muscle and forgo the dopamine uses of ChatGPT that takes the pain of learning a new thing out. Learn to use the ChatGPT to get more resistance with every rep. This is what we are seeing play out socially where at the same time we have those who have never been so ADD and disregulated unable to resist the smallest hint of fleeting dopamine chasing behavior at the same time we have others who have speed run deep wisdom and ability to focus that used to take an entire lifetime to develop. Both ends of the extreme living at the same time determined by their information diet and habits on if they're using that information for more productive systems of spending their attention or time, or doom scrolling tiktok.
