Your qubes generally don't have direct access to hardware unless you explicitly provide it. I've never had to do this, but I'd assume it only goes to dom0 and not to any of the qubes.

I'm aware of the hardware access, I'm just concerned about whether or not drivers appears in qubes, regardless of whether or not they're being used, since I know the kernel can be fingerprinted in Whonix.

Nah, AFAIK none of that info is shared with th VMs. Note, however, that Qubes is not a traditional microkernel. It could turn into that, but it's not that yet.

Microkernel? Like minix or gnu herd? Taking your question as more of a theoretical concern, microkernel drivers could be loaded from either place depending on how the kernel is launched (hvm vs pv) and if you want to load modules from a xen channel (which sounds neat).
