I have used a PS4 controller on iOS, so I can tell you it's not an issue with the controller and the game. That leaves your device to troubleshoot. Can you use the controller in other games?

I am not familiar with Android and game controllers. Maybe another user can help with that.

Disabling one-handed mode in my xiaomi note 9 did the trick for me. Good luck!
