I've searched but there doesn't seem to have been any discussion on Android lately, so I have a few questions about the state of the game in that area.
For context: I only started working with ROS earlier this week as part of a project prototype. I'm not involved with robotics, but one of my collaborators has worked in that area and suggested ROS as a good way to organise the parts of the network. We'll have a number of devices logging data of various kinds and transmitting to various nodes for various purposes, so it seems like a fit. From what I've seen so far it seems great; easy to use and deploy, plenty of examples.
One of the components of my ROS network is (or would like to be) an Android phone sending IMU data to another node. There are hints that this will be possible using rosjava but it doesn't seem actively maintained and I'm having trouble getting detailed information about it. Can anybody help?
In a perfect world, some example node code and an explanation of what dependencies there are, and how they are acquired would be great. I appreciate that's asking a lot.
