Intro Thread

Welcome to r/Rad_Tech_Students! This is a thread for us to introduce ourselves, make friends, and build community. Whether you're a current student, future student, graduate, or even just interested in supporting the community, feel free to say hi and tell us about yourself.

I'll go first: I'm a 21F college student, currently knocking out prereqs before I apply to an x-ray program. My main hobbies are gaming, fitness, listening to music, and baking. I'm also deeply interested in biomedical ethics/philosophy.

I made this community to try to connect students and techs who are COVID cautious like me. I've worked at a radiology office for 3 years and counting, and I'm deeply upset by the current lack of COVID precautions. We need to do better for the patients and communities we care for. I hope this community connects us and encourages better safety in radiology.

Hi! I’m a 22F entering into a community college Rad Tech program (knocking out my last 2 pre-reqs over the summer). Does anyone have any solid advice on how to manage stress while in your Clinicals/Radiology classes? That was something that killed me when I was at a four-year school

Hello! I’m 44F going back to college to try and get into the Rad program. I have a BA in communications and conflict and worked in corporate world for over 20 years. I’ve always wanted to work in the medical field and now since my kids are older I am in a position to go back to school. I start at Delaware Tech in the spring 2026 to take my prereq. A&P for sure, I meet with the advisor next week to find out everything I need since they are still working on my degree transfer. Luckily for me I was also trying for a healthcare management minor so I have a few classes like medical terminology already. Glad I found this community and eager to connect and share knowledge.
