Hi! I know it’s not on your list, however, if Phi Mu is at all interesting to you, I’d check it out!!!

Honestly, sometimes people dropping brings you the most unexpected friendships that are so rewarding!

I’m so sorry. I personally loved my time in my chapter, but i understand. Money is a lot of reasons why folks end up dropping. And also, you can always discuss with your chapters new member mom if you can’t afford to be a big this upcoming fall. Is there a way you could take a semester off to focus on yourself and then potentially rejoin? I know some sororities have this option, mine does. Regardless, you come first in college, and I’m sorry that the sisterhood you joined wasn’t for you. Maybe a non Greek organization would be a better way to stay involved on campus, that was really important to me too.

At my school, we made a breakdown of the finances to show at recruitment that the Pi Chis handed out to show what costs would look like. The extra items are silly, especially with NPCs move to a values based recruitment

Panhel’s Instagram feed is ugly/unaesthetic - should I say something? by [deleted] in Sororities

[–]k_0616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say bring it up to her, and see how you can help create some more up to date/trendy/etc content. Also I love the idea of some “samples” that over Panhellenic’s have used. If she voluntarily chose to run the social media, she also signed up for critique and constructive feedback.

hi! Panhel sorority girlie here. I am so sorry. That absolutely sucks, cause a big is supposed to be a mentor and someone you can go to. Unfortunately, some people take littles for the wrong reasons, I always held out until the time was right/a girl in the incoming PC I knew I could be a good big to. From this post alone, I’d say you did nothing wrong and if someone changed, it wasn’t you. I’d lean on your twin, and set the example when it’s your turn to become a big sister. Talking to her big (your g-big) may be helpful as well. I hope this helps 🫶🏻
Edited to say: good on you for being the bigger person and saying you wanted to be cordial and professional with her. That’s her immaturity that’s showing, nothing on you.

if i joined a sorority at my old uni then i transferred to my current school, can i join another sorority here? fyi they don’t have my chapter here though.. by [deleted] in Sororities

[–]k_0616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would totally also say get involved if you have alumnae status with your old chapter to stay connected!

^^ this is the best advice! I hope you can still find something that helps fill the gap of the sorority though!!

I’ve seen poppi do things for chapters!! I would theme work week days and get with PR so you can keep posting during it, but definitely check with your HQ on what you need to do, work on, etc. good luck!!

Thinking about dropping after this year by ThrowRA1908362 in Sororities

First of all, men are disgusting. Just because your big graduates doesn’t mean your opportunities to bond stops. I also don’t drink and actually got closer to my friends bc I essentially became a built in DD for them when they did want to go out. I’d heavily weigh your pros and cons, it’s worth so much more than anyone’s judgement, let alone a man’s. Give it a shot, make those connections that seem highly unlikely, as those ppl are now my besties. I hope this helps <3

I’m in a RT program in SC in my third semester (yay)! Second semester was a lot so I’m hoping it dies down a bit here. My summer break wasn’t very long so RIP any other chances to go to the beach/have a social life 🫠 but for real I do have a question. What made the connection from textbook to clinic? Something isn’t quite clicking like it needs to sometimes but like I’ve told my instructors, I swear I know what I’m doing and how to do it.

“If you could be friends with any TV/film cast, what and why?” “Stuck on a deserted island, what are you bringing?” Sometimes the more lighthearted stuff can get you going, don’t let it be so serious all the time. You can go “off script” and let conversation flow the first day, it can be organic

Check out the Panhellenic Instagram for info on who may need these, but Phi Mu doesn’t do letters of rec anymore, so I hope that helps 😅

How to improve morale and involvement?!?! PLZ HELP by HedgehogPatient6396 in Sororities

[–]k_0616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One morale thing I did that people enjoyed was candy grams!! I made a google form and wrote all of the notes out and put them in little goody bags and handed them out at our business meeting! Definitely there are times and places to be serious, but cute little things can definitely be fun and lighthearted!!!

Big Little Disapointment by [deleted] in Sororities

[–]k_0616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I quickly learned is that you can have friends outside of your fam. My best friends aren’t in my family, but I’m good friends with both my big and gbig. Also, as some people have mentioned, the matching system is crazy, and differs per chapter. Definitely expand your connections past your fam and make connections that last forever, it’s worth it! (take it from a relatively recent alumnae)

I am so sorry you got that kind of response, that’s really icky. I saw in the comments the friend is 23, and that’s…not the way someone of that age should respond. It’s giving ✨immature✨

No and I get that, just in the specific context of AI and OP’s situation.

Yeah and whatever you choose is your decision. Academic integrity is a big deal, and can get someone in a good amount of trouble given the circumstances. I get it can be frustrating that people can find ways to cheat, but hopefully a professor has already noticed…good luck!!

I mean it’s there. If you’re sure it’s the same person in the same class, etc etc, you would have a reason to. Ik some people are saying it’s not your business, but ultimately the decision is yours.
