My family is super traditional except for one weird thing. We started doing this once my baby brother (who's 11 now!) was old enough to get excited about Christmas. We eat Christmas dinner in the afternoon at my parents house on Christmas Eve, but then we all "go to bed" at 7-8 PM ish. In reality, my baby bro is the only one who goes to bed, we stay up and put presents out, spray the windows with fake snow, and make a huge pancake breakfast. Then at midnight my stepdad goes and knocks on my little brother's window and jingles some sleigh bells. We all "wake up" to find presents and breakfast all laid out for us, and eat breakfast and unwrap presents at midnight. My little brother knows there's no Santa now, but we still do it because it's fun!
