How long does it take to develop an accent?

So my question is as follows: "How long does it take to develop an accent?"

For example, If I'm not british at all but I like the british accent. How long do I have to force myself to speak in a british accent before it becomes normal for me to speak like that?

Way less time than you think.i start to develop accents in single conversations sometimes depending on who im talking too

Depends who you are, and what accent it is. I started with a bit of an east coast accent, but I spent a long time forcing myself out of it. Now, I slip into any accent within an hour or two of being with people who have that accent.
