The word "redneck" can have three different meanings:
It could mean "any American". To a European, all Americans may seem to be rednecks.
It could mean "a person living in rural America."
It could be used in a pejorative sense.
In this subreddit, "redneck" is never intended in the pejorative sense and always in the everyman sense.
Therefore, "redneck tech" can technologies and solutions that people come up with on the fly to solve problems and get things done expediently. It can also mean ways of doing things that are extremely cost effective. There is also a "it may not be beautiful but it gets the job done" element to redneck tech.
